It is no big secret that most children get excited around the end of October. This is plain and simply because of Halloween. The one night of the year that is loaded with tricks and treats, as well as a few scares. In that age after your kids think they are grown up, but you know they are still too young for teen experiences, look for tween costumes or pre-teen costumes that are fun and interesting, and express something original. You tween will love it if you let them experiment a little, and yet you will still know that they are not over the top in an unsafe way.

Make Homemade Costumes For Kids This Halloween

You can find lots of Halloween costumes available at stores in your neighborhood. But when you consider the cost and lack of originality, homemade Halloween costumes for kids are a more fun and oftentimes more cost-effective option.

Plus, if you involve your children in creating the homemade costumes, the results will be worth more than any store-bought costume in any store.

Ghosts are an old stand-by that never goes out of style. Use an old white sheet with holes cut for the eyes and sew a simple treat bag out of a scrap of material or a worn out pillow case.

You can dress your ghost up a bit by making lips out of red lipstick and a few false eyelashes. Or you could color a beard and moustache with markers.

For something a little less common, try making this Soda Can costume. Find an inexpensive plastic barrel and cut a hole in the bottom. Paint the entire barrel the colors and design of your favorite brand of soda in a can.

With holes for arms and your head, a simple barrel can transform your child into a soda can ready for a night of trick or treating.

With a little imagination, special homemade costumes out of inexpensive, household items.

Jack Sparrow and Pirate Costumes For Kids

While a Jack Sparrow costume is everyone’s favorite pirate for Halloween, pirate costumes for kids can be pretty simple.

The ones you can find for younger kids are going to be the simplest, but they should also be a lot of fun. The eye patch can be a problem for some children though, so you have a few things to think about. One would be to get them one that has a hole in it so that they can see through it.

You can also find mesh ones that look solid but are like looking through a screen door. Lastly, you can find safe paint for kids’ faces and paint on one. Some children handle these well and some can’t stand to wear them, so buy accordingly.

Some pirate costumes for kids come with a sword. Parents tend to have mixed feelings about these. You know your own rules and you know your kids best. If you do not like your kids playing with toy weapons you can always get rid of it. If you are not sure if it is a good idea for safety reason, look it over and then decide.

A smaller child may swing it at someone, and even if it is plastic, they may still hurt someone. If you don’t mind it, but want them to be careful with it, let them play with it at home and then securely put it on a belt so it hangs but also so that they are not hitting anyone with it.

Of course, there are some really great Pirates of the Caribbean captain Jack costumes for kids as well as for adults. For the best hand picked selection of the popular Disney pirate, have a look at www.halloweencostumessite.org/jack-sparrow-costume.html

Halloween Games

During Halloween, many traditions are carried out, from decorating your house, to trick or treating, but one of the most associated traditions if playing Halloween games.

When we think of Halloween games, the first thing that springs to mind is of course, Apple Bobbing. Interestingly, Apple Bobbing doesn’t in fact come from Halloween tradition at all; it is based on a new year’s tradition that whoever chokes on the apple first is the first to marry. Now this has merged into Halloween but is slowly becoming unpopular because of its sanitary issues (let’s face it, who wants to dup their face in a bucket of diluted saliva) and its safety issues because unless the mermaid costume child happens to be a real mermaid, they could drown.

Another of todays popular Halloween games is find the pumpkin or find the candy, it is a very simple procedure where candy or miniature pumpkins are hidden in an area of land (usually a garden) and the person with the most of these objects when the time is up or all has been found, is the winner, usually the child with the devil costume halloween. Kids love this game and it is very fun to play.

Whatever game you plan on playing this Halloween, make sure its safe, dressing up as a skeleton is all well and good, but not if you end up with a real one.

Children Tinker Bell Costumes

Being raised some of us enjoyed lots of Disney films, furthermore one particularly treasured Disney story was the one and only Peter Pan. In reality, I do not forget actively playing the main character act of Peter’s youthful brother, John, at a play organized at the summer camps my brothers and sisters and I joined. This seemed to be one of my beloved experiences because of every aspect it had encompassed. Any wonderland precisely where kids merely by no means grew up and also played collectively in this particular mystery spot known as Never Never Land, turned out as being the very best place in the world. Typically the use of a child’s resourceful thinking can potentially take an individual very far!

In the same way, one of my own relatives simply can’t get enough of Tinker Bell, though she had been first told about the character two or three years ago. She has got a tinkerbell backpack, shirts or dresses, shoes and boots, dolls, and the Dvd video. The sole thing left out is apparently one of many numerous tinker bell costume ideas Peter Pan Suits have been here for several years and are most likely right here to remain!

This is a special period designed not just for kids but for grown-ups too. For the sake of this report though, we’ll consider the young boys and girls. Being a big fan of movies only thrilled me that much more to replicate some of these fascinating animation characters throughout Halloween. The thought of looking just like the character was so appealing I had a hard time getting to sleep days previous to going trick or treating, I was so psyched! These Disney characters sure made an impression on me when I was younger. Do you have young ones or know any kids who completely love a Disney character?

Even while I absolutely enjoyed watching movies with the family, another way I could develop the mind growing up was to study Disney stories. This is a smart way to engage your children with word games and puzzles using the computer and picture matching. I’ve have discovered these kinds of activities to be particularly gratifying for children, intellectually and socially. Hopefully my niece and kids alike will have very special moments as I did, understanding about their favorite Disney Characters. When it comes to most Halloween seasons it should be yet one other wonderful time and I look forward to seeing girls in child tinkerbell costumes prancing around in the friendly areas for some trick or treat fun!

Cute as a Bug in a Ladybug Costume

If you wish for anything cute this Halloween a bug outfit would definitely be a little something distinct. This outfit is hugely preferred with young children and grown ups as well, and it can be wonderful not just for Halloween and parties but also photo shoots. Therefore, make certain that in picking your Halloween Lady bug costume, you would get some thing comfy and light.

One thing that you choose to should look at in shopping for a outfit is the size of the skirt. If you’re daring and assured enough to expose a lot of your legs, get the attractive Lady Bug outfit that comes in mini dresses. Yet, should you feel that they are just as well daring for you, you might often cover your legs with black stockings or leggings.

Children love bright shades, making the red ladybug a kid’s favorite insect. They look like candies, in fact! You will locate many diverse styles for your youngster, for example a tutu costume with spots, to a fairy from the garden, to delicate, velvety red and black bodysuits for infants. Think of comfort when seeking a kids ladybug costume. For instance, the antenna on some outfits may perhaps be too large, or sagg to eye level, leading to a possible hazard. Secure them with pins or make your personal out of wire and pom-poms.

Obviously, wings are a need to on your ladybug outfit. Take note, you will find a good deal of bug wings inside the market. Prior to purchasing the biggest set of wings in the marketplace, make sure they are light enough to be at ease for your youngster, or your self. You may perhaps be putting on them for numerous hours. It can be superior though if you get the smaller sized wings. It would likely give you much more freedom in order to move. Make sure they are detachable, so you or the child can quickly remove them. That makes heading in and out from the car less complicated.

Ease and comfort is primary, and occasionally it’s important to balance a good-looking costume with usability. Remember that trick-or-treating may be exhausting and requires a long walk. You must have on a thing that you choose to could carry until the finish.

Dora Halloween Costume

Dora the Explorer and her friend Boots the Monkey were not around when my kids were growing up but I wish they had been. I have done a significant amount of research about Dora and her cartoon series on nickjr and I am so impressed with her integrity, compassion, and genuine concern for others. Aren’t these huge lessons all of our kids need to learn? Lord knows we are lacking good role models for our children and Dora is a significant one for our toddlers. I can’t think of a better character for a little girl to dress up as for Halloween than in a Dora Halloween Costume. We also learn about the value and importance of friendship when we watch Dora’s program and one of the key relationships we see is between Dora and Boots the Monkey. They truly value each other and forsake all else when the other is in need. So, if you’re going to dress as Dora the Explorer this Halloween, you best get your little brother or sister or perhaps a neighborhood child to dress in a Boots the Monkey costume for Halloween. Seeing Dora without her friend and companion Boots by her side just isn’t natural!!

Gloomy but Lovable Eeyore Costumes

“Thanks for noticin’ me” is one of Eeyore’s most famous lines. Eeyore didn’t think he was anything special so he always appreciated when one of his friends in the 100 Acre Wood went out of their way to recognize him. Well, your child will certainly be recognized wearing any number of available Eeyore Costumes this Halloween. The gloomy blue-gray Donkey, Eeyore, is certainly one of the most recognizable woodland animals in Winnie the Pooh. Looking at a map, the area of the forest where Eeyore lives is called, “Eeyore’s Gloomy Place: Rather Boggy and Sad”. No one really knows why Eeyore is so glum but we do know that he doesn’t have a very high opinion of himself nor of the other animals in the wood.

I find it odd that Eeyore’s dismally gloomy nature is the very reason we like him. But I think it’s more than that. I think we all see the compassion Eeyore has for his friends as well and it’s the combination of the two that we’re attracted to.

It sounds wierd, but your child will have a lot of fun this Halloween dressed as the Gloomy Eeyore.

Winnie Pooh Costume

A Winnie the Pooh costume would be a classic for this Halloween. Edward Bear as he was first called by Christopher Robin has had a wonderful influence on this world since he was brought to life in A.A. Milne’s first book back in 1926. Winnie the Pooh, a bear of very little brain, tends to be a bit on the slow side since “his head is full of fluff, you know…a common occurrence among teddy bears.” But, Pooh’s simple approach to life and his single mindedness when it comes to food, more specifically Hunny (as he spells it) are the qualities that we all love about him. He is said to be “gifted with an uncommon, clear-eyed wisdom” and I must agree. Because he is simple minded, he’s sees things as they really are and his honesty about things is to be admired. There’s a great song, a lullaby really, written by Kenny Loggins called “Return to Pooh Corner” that really captures the essence of Pooh and the magical influence he’s had on so many children around the world, including me. Check it out.

Angels and fairies are very dear to me. I really loved them. But black angels have a bad side to it. If you are a black angel you are obviously not in the good books of many people.

Well this year we have Neytiri. Yes the girl alien. I am so glad we have more girl aliens coming to visit us and my daughter is very happy that she has a Neytiri costume this year. She can not wait for Halloween. We have the costume and the makeup so she is set. Now it is just the count down. Will we ever make it.

Tips for Picking a Halloween Costume

One nice thing about a costume such as a Mad Hatter costume from Alice in Wonderland is that there is no face restrictions. You can choose a mask but it isn’t necessary.

First ask yourself some questions in three major areas; mask, temperature and mobility.

Where will you wear your Halloween costume? Are you gong to be outside in the cold or in a warm room? If you plan to be outside trick-or-treating, then you need to take other factors into consideration.

Whether you will be inside all warm and cozy or outside in freezing weather, your well being is most important.

Does the mask or head piece restrict your vision? Don’t drive in your costume without removing your mask. Make sure you can see all around you. Will breathing or heat be a problem with your mask or costume?

How will you stay comfortable? Can you keep both warm and cool? One nice thing about a Mad Hatter outfit is that you can make the material as light or heavy as wanted.

It is often cold at Halloween. If you will be out in the cold as well as inside, layering is a possibility. Can you add to your costume for outside in the cold and take part off, if necessary, inside in the warmth? Long underwear can sometimes make all the difference.

Can you walk securely to stay safe in your costume? Do any segments of your costume stick out that might catch on things and cause you to trip? A fluttering piece of fabric for wings or other decoration.

Safety first, but maybe break out of your mold and try something different this year like a sexy risque mischievous Mad Hatter costume or other Alice Wonderland costume.

And remember, being comfortable as well as gorgeous at your costume party will make you relaxed and able to have a wonderful time.

The brand’s first box of eight Crayola crayons made its initial premier debut in 1903.

Back then, the crayons were sold for a nickel and the colors were black, brown, blue, red, purple, orange, yellow, and green.

Have Fun With Glow In The Dark Necklaces

I have always loved anything that glows in the dark. It is not hard to understand why. These things always fascinate children. My fascination, however, was broader than most. I love glow sticks, black lights, glow in the dark necklaces, and anything else that could glow.

Now that I have kids of my own, I give them glow in the dark necklaces whenever I have the chance. I take any excuse. On Halloween, each of them gets a glow in the dark necklace. On the Fourth of July, it is the same thing. I think that their love of glowing things is every bit as strong as mine. Not only do they like the glow in the dark necklaces, but also they adore pumpkins. They will carve jack-o’-lanterns all year if I let them!
