Fairy tales have been an integral part of childhood culture. A bed time story is lullaby to the ears of a child near a slumber. This stimulates their sleep by creating cheerful dreams. Leaving a child with happy thoughts in mind, increases relaxation while at sleep.

Journey to finding true love, happiness, and contentment by defeating evil antagonists, is the usual plot of fairy tales. The important message relayed revolves on the significance of hope as a virtue. Stories of this kind are encouraging these little children to dream. This is where hope is initially instilled in their core values. There are also some other relevant virtues embedded in the morals found in these stories. Thus, somehow, listening and reading these tales can contribute to the holistic formation of child.

The common characters in fairy tales are the prince, princess, a friendly pet, and an evil witch. The princess is the ultimate lead role in the story. The prince acts as the savior commonly referred to as the “knight-in-shining armor.” Usually, animals play the role of a friend to the lead characters. This promotes concern for animals at a child’s innocent age. The evil witch, for obvious description, causes the conflict in the story. Antagonists assume freaky form to discourage kids from imbibing unlikely values.

Every little kid in town, for sure, has dreamed of becoming a princess or a prince, just like in their childhood stories. This is why some usually dress up in fancy costumes. There may be little children in Hansel and Gretel costumes out in the street or some in Gingerbread Man costumes. As they grow up, however, they begin to realize that the dream world is outside reality.
