What’s more fun than taking an angel of a toddler and actually dressing her up as in a Babies Tinkerbell Costume? Why, fashioning a little fairy costume with your own hands, of course. But first, haven’t you noticed that with all kinds of cute little costumes for toddlers (and little children), that they always look better with a little pair fairy wings? Let’s take a look at how you would make those, first.
The framework you need for your basic fairy wings is simple enough. All you need are a pair of wire coat hangers. To start off, get a pair of wire hangers, lock the two hooks , and with a pair of pliers, twist them tight, stiff and strong. You need a pair of nylon stockings to drape and stretch over them. Bring out a can of spray paint, spray them the color you want, and sprinkle some glitter. And you’re done.
What do you do though when you want an actual baby fairy costume for the full effect? Try these instructions.
If you’re going to all this trouble, you might as well get the right materials and do it properly. Never mind the hangers for these wings. Get 9-gauge aluminum wire that’s nice and pliable. You’ll get it at a hardware store. Cut a length about 10 feet long, and using a pair of pliers, twist them into any wing shape that you want. You could either use a quad butterfly wing shape, or two simple round wings. It’s easy when you have something that is as pliable and stiff wire. Make sure that you take care of the wire ends. You don’t want any sharp points anywhere.
