Did you know that Dalmation dogs originally came from Dalmatia (yes, there really is a place called Dalmatia). The Dalmatia region is located in Croatia. Dalmation dogs are large, active dogs who like to run around. They were initially bred as hunting dogs.

Contrary to popular belief, dalmation puppies are actually born with white fur. Their spots grow in the next few weeks after birth. In most cases, the spots are black in color. However, dalmation dogs have been known to have bluish grey spots or dark to pale yellow spots or even tri-color spots.

Dalmation dogs are cute and very distinctive with their white & black spots. That’s why a kids dalmation costume will always be popular every Halloween.

One of the more popular costumes for little infants and toddlers are animal-type costumes. For instance, costumes such as an infant puppy costume, fish costumes, rabbit costumes, cat costumes, etc. etc. The reason why animal costumes are more popular with the younger crowd is because younger kids only have experience with little animals, maybe not physically, but most certainly through story books, nursery rhymes, visits to the zoo, etc. etc.
